The Man Job

One day Satan in his cunning way

Accused him before God

When asked him the question,

Have you considered My servant Job?

No man is found on earth

Like him in integrity

And of fear of Me.

Just let me touch his wealth

Was Satan’s reply

He will abandon You

Not a chance, Job continued

Faithful in his integrity

Let me touch his body

He asked God, for sure

He will change his ways

Of that I am sure

With God’s permission

Satan touched Job’s body

Causing scabs and oozes

Day and night – no relief

Job endured the test of time

With the question

In his mind

Why am I a target?

A righteous man in the hand

Of the wicked Satan

In bitterness of soul

Suffering much pain

Expressed his complaints

To friends who understood not

The anguish of his soul

Friends, he did not know

Amidst his sorrows and pains

His words were engraved

Forever in the everlasting

Pages as he desired

And were sealed forever

For the world to see

And learn that trials

Come to all

But with faith-

The eyes of hope

Patience will shine

With victory at last!

At the end of Job’s trial

God for him smiled

And restored him

To his honor and respect

A righteous man

Now In the hands of his God

Is blessed twice as much

For fighting the good fight!
