YAHSHUA then said, I saw Satan falling like a lightning from heaven. Satan could not withstand the power YAHSHUA gave His disciples to fight against him. Extraordinary as it was however, YAHSHUA acknowledging what happened called their attention to a very important fact: Rejoice that your names are written in heaven. What good it would have been for them if their names were not found written in the Book of Life? As YAHSHUA had said, Many are called, but few are chosen, and not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name, and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly, I never know you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly
(Matt. 7: 21-23). So the disciple’s power over Satan and his demons was not a matter for them to rejoice as greatly, as it was the fact that their names were written in the book of life.
Many so called Christian pastors and healers’ names of today might not be registered in the book of life, as YAHSHUA so warned. Even if they go around professing powers over the evil one, that does not confirm their names in the Book of Life if they do not have a relationship with God- the most important link guaranteeing their name in heaven. Surprised, they will be when they hear their final verdict from YAHSHUA’S mouth, “I never knew you; depart from Me.” What will be the result of one’s name found in the book of life? Deliverance from the time of trouble, called the tribulation. Daniel 12:1 says, And at that time Michael shall arise, the great prince who defends and has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, straitness and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the Book. In the midst of the worst history of the world, when God sends His wrath upon the earth, there will be mercy for those whose names are written in the Book. God is not only patient with the world, but He is also merciful and compassionate. At that time there will be also a resurrection of those whose names are written in the Book of life, to experience eternal salvation and eternal joy in the presence of their God, which is the first resurrection. Those are the blessed ones, as we read in Revelation 20:6: Blessed and holy is the person who takes part in the first resurrection! Over them the second death exerts no power or authority, but they shall be ministers of God and of the Messiah, and they shall rule along with Him a thousand years. That’s what means to have our names written in the book of life.
When our names are written in the Book of Life there will be certainty of our eternal salvation, although, this does not apply to those who play-actors. Many are they who are a wolf dressed in sheep skin; many are those who are tares with lookalike wheat, but are not what they appear to be. But for those who are overcomers, and victorious they shall be clad in white garments and YAHSHUA will not erase or blot out their names from the Book of Life; He will acknowledge him [as His] and He will confess his name openly before His Father and before His angels (Rev.3:5). There is no name registered in the Lamb’s Book of Life of those who commit abominations (unclean, detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood (Rev. 22: 27b). The Book of Life holds the list of those who will be saved. It is not of those who motivated by emotions, walk the isle of a church, but does not follow YAHSHUA’S teachings. It registers the names of those who faithfully follow Him, for they have been chosen from the foundation of the world: Ephesians 1:4 says, Even as He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love for He foreordained us to be adopted as His own children through YAHSHUA Messiah in accordance with the purpose of His will.
But for those whose names are not registered in the Book of Life they will be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:15); they will go through the tribulation, fall down in adoration to the antichrist and pay him homage, everyone whose name had not been recorded in the Book of Life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13: 8). No one who has been registered in the Book of Life will be left behind to suffer the wrath of God. Just as the 144 thousand will be sealed for protection from the plagues during the tribulation, so those who are sealed with the Holy Spirit guaranteeing their salvation will be delivered through their written names in the Book of Life.
God has other books besides that of the Book of Life or the Lamb’s Book of Life. There is the judgment book where is recorded men’s deeds: I saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged by what they had done in accordance with what was recorded in the books (Rev. 20:12). And Daniel 7:10b: The Judge was seated and the books were opened. There is a book of remembrance (Mal. 3:16-17): Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who thought on His name. And they shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels. And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. There is also a book where the length of our days on the earth is registered even before we were born. Your eyes saw my unformed substance and in your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them (Psalm. 139:16).
The true believers’ names are those names written in heaven; they will never perish; they will never lose their salvation. They are forever secured in the Father’s hands; nothing and no one can snatch them out of His hands. The seal of their salvation is printed in their spirit. They are the ones whose lives shine and radiate the presence of the Holy Spirit wherever they go. They are the ones being pruned through sanctification to bear fruit that will count to eternity. Their lives are not their own, but YAHSHUA’S life living in them. Is your name written in the Book of Life?
