When Peter denied knowing the Lord YAHSHUA, he showed not to have a relationship with Him, he showed his filthy garment, although he walked with Him for three years, witnessing super natural miracles. But Peter opened the door of his heart for Satan to do what he pleased with him. Even when YAHSHUA warned and protected him by praying for him. Today, we are pastors, church’s goers, givers, teachers, but lacking the relationship with our God, which will compel Him to say, “I do not know you, depart from Me.” (Matt. 7). Adam and Eve when sinned, tried to hide, but who can hide from God? After sentences pronounced against them, the Lord made long coats of skins and clothed them. God’s covering Adam and Eve with skin, foreshadowed YAHSHUA’S redemptive sacrifice for humankind with forgiveness of sin, which “as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Ps. 103:12) the imputing of His righteousness, and the promise of salvation in Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel. There will never be a sin greater than God’s love expressed on the cross, as He was atoning for our sins.
We can come to Him as we are in our filth, provided that we have a repentant and contrite heart toward God. Satan, will never miss a chance to accuse us before God, when we give him an opportunity. As the Bible says “if we go on deliberately and willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of the Truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to atone for sins, but a kind of awful and fearful prospect and expectation of divine judgment and the fury of burning wrath and indignation which will consume those who put themselves in opposition [to God]. (However) how much worse the punishment do you suppose he will be judged to deserve who has spurned and trampled underfoot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the [Holy] Spirit [Who imparts] grace” (Heb. 10:26, 27, 29). After the atonement for sin by YAHSHUA, we must be aware of the consequences we bring to ourselves for disregarding His sufferings to save us and the gift of His Holy Spirit indwelling in us. The Bible warns us not to suppress or subdue the [Holy] Spirit. (I Thess.5:19) and “It is a fearful thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into the hand of the living God!” (Heb. 10:31).
The believer has a defender Who will never condemn. “Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? God Who justifies Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God Who Will God Who acquits us?” (Rom. 8:33-34). In the case of Joshua, he was in the position of being accused for the life he lived. We read that the Angel of the Lord protested and affirmed to Joshua saying, “If you will walk in My ways and keep my charge, then also you shall rule My house and have charge of My courts and I will give you access [to My presence] and places to walk among these who stand here” (Zech. 3). When our life style is of double standards, hypocritical -filthy inside and pretender outside it calls for God to correct us. YAHSHUA hated these kinds of people called Pharisees, for they were hypocrites, pretenders. Clean in the outside, but filthy inside.
