Faith is the door for us to enter into the new covenant with YAHWEH YAHSHUA. Faith opens the door of our life for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. The old covenant then has been replaced by the new according to Hebrews 8:6: but as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant of which He is the Mediator is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important promises. The new covenant offers salvation as a free gift, as Paul told the Ephesians: For it is by free grace that you are saved through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves but it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). Once we accepted YAHSHUA, we entered into a covenant with Him. It is our responsibility to do what the Lord demands us to receive the blessings the covenant promises. The letter to the Hebrews gives us a warning worthy of our attention: See to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him Who is speaking. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them on earth, how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on Him Who cautions, and admonishes [us] from heaven?… Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe; for our God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12: (Heb. 12: 25- 28-29).
Do you know that God has covenanted with you? Your awareness of it will cause you to obey and maintain the covenantal relationship with Him. Salvation is indeed free, but it requires your commitment to it through faith and obedience.
