The spirit of man needs faith that originates from the true God. There is no other sustainable faith, but that from YAHSHUA. For it springs forth from heaven to us; built with His own blood, established on the covenant of blood, when He shed His own, at the time when He was scourged hundreds of times, when a crown of thorn pierced His head deeply, letting His blood flow profusely, and when they pierced His hands and feet on our cross. That’s faith that will sustain us to the end of time, amidst all sort of tempest. It is faith established on the sacrifice of our God, YAHSHUA. The Bible says that faith is the victory that overcomes the world, with its temptations, persecutions, and more. Faith stands firmly on the Rock securing us in times of our needs and trials.
When YAHSHUA Gave this illustration of comparation, He was sitting on the mountain. From there, He shined the light of practical teachings for all to hear. Many were the subjects He covered in His teachings on that day. From chapter five to seven of Mathew we read the wonderful guidelines to holiness; YAHSHUA shows how His kingdom works; in the beatitudes, He declared a series of blessings available, no matter the situation before us. In suffering, in hunger, in persecution, etc. He teaches about forgiveness, love, a lesson on prayer, faithfulness, worry, and much more. In chapter seven of Mathew, YAHSHUA teaches how to be true born-again Christians. To be persistent in prayer, how to behave toward one another. He teaches concerning the two gates: narrow and wide. In this, there is life’s final destiny, heaven and hell. How a bad tree shows to be bad by its fruit and a warning that many will be left outside heaven for disregarding God’s commands. He then gave an illustration of comparation: the wise man who built his house on a rock, and the foolish man, who built his house on sand and the results of both houses after a storm hit them. The wise man is the one who hears the word of God and apply it to his life; he has established a good foundation of faith for his life to remain steadily firm in all seasons of life. He has spiritual knowledge, and to him more will be given (Matt. 13:12). The foolish man was compared to those who hear YAHSHUA’S words, but do not do them. His house is built on sand and unfit to withstand the storms of life, be then physical, emotional or spiritual.
At the end, when the time comes to give an account of our doings, YAHSHUA will either say, Well done faithful servant, enter the kingdom prepared for you, or He will say, Depart from Me, I never knew you! Often, we do not take seriously the future consequences of our present decisions concerning the Word of God. However, in chapter seven of Mathews, YAHSHUA gives solemn warnings, we must pay attention to, not to be left out of His kingdom. On the parable of the seeds, YAHSHUA gives illustrations of comparison concerning the process of seed germination; for example, the seed that fell on the roadside was taken away. That was a hard soil with no chance for the seed to penetrate and germinate life into a fruit bearing tree. Because it was vulnerable, it was seen as food by the birds and not as a future plant. It was carried away with no chance to fulfill the purpose for what It was sown. This hard soil is compared to the heart of men in its hardness toward the Word of God. Like a passerby, he did not bother to stop to consider the message. For this reason, he is considered foolish; he was called but not chosen. The second seed fell on rocky ground, where there was no depth of soil; it dried and withered away; it had no root to support it; no soil to nourish it; the heart was hard deeply within in. He could not stand the trials of life and deserted the faith. This too was called, but not chosen. The next seed fell among thorns; they chocked the life of the seed and gave it no chance to grow and bear fruit. This too was called but not chosen for that. YAHSHUA explained that the cares of the world were the thorns that suffocated the Word the person had once accepted; therefore, he could not produce fruit. Without the bearing of fruit, there is no evidence of faith, there is no evidence that the word of God is remaining in us, neither that we are abiding in God. It shows that our house is built on sandy ground, and that it cannot stand the stormy time. The last seed fell on good soil and yielded fruit in abundance. This was the one who heard the Word and grasped and understood it; his life produced much fruit for the kingdom of God, as a result. Hearing, and accepting the Word of God is key to grow and produce fruit that shows we are in Him and He is in us. We will be blessed with deeper understanding and more knowledge will be given us; we will be like a well-built house, as YAHSHUA described it, with strong foundation; no wind of adversity will bring its foundation down. A house which pillars and foundation are secured by faith in our Lord YAHSHUA, Who is the Author of it, will remain standing at any wind of hurricane strength.
God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present and well-proved help in trouble; therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult (Ps. 46:1-3).
Our house is built on strong faith. How about yours?
