News we choose to watch, will bring us healthy or unhealthy bones. We do have a choice, among others, the choice to be thankful in every circumstance that controls our state of mind and consequently, the body. Paul said, Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God; and God’s peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ YAHSHUA…Whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things (Phil. 4:4-8b). Choosing to be happy in every circumstance will bring health to the entire body, and namely, the bones. Life in that sphere is absolutely beautiful. We can start living that way by controlling our attitude, when it is challenged by circumstances to express negative emotions. The health of our body depends very much on the way we express our emotions- controlled or out of control. The soul- the will, emotion, and the intellect depend on the spiritual side of life, uniting with the body in being healthy. King David so expressed: When I kept silence, my bones wasted away trough my groaning all the day long, for day and night You hand was heavy upon me; my moisture(kidneys) was turned into the drought of summer; I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord, then You forgave me the guilt and the iniquity of my sin (Ps. 32:3-5). Non-confessed sins inhibit the health of the body; Little do we know concerning how entwined the body and the soul are in relationship to diseases, to connect the dots and understand their root causes. But a little knowledge with understanding, will lead us a long way where we need to be in our walk with the reality of life.
Each negative emotion connects to the internal organ, impacting its ability to function properly. The emotions of envy, jealousy and wrath are like rottenness of the bones; that’s what the Bible says in Proverbs 14:30. The more that we harbor these emotions, the sicker that our bones will be. If these emotions stay with us, they will lead the body to its destruction. Many of us are sick with all kinds of diseases, as a result of stuck emotions dominating and leading us to it. We have become powerless, as a result, not able to perform the work God has for us to do. Bone diseases are very painful. Many people are paralyzed because of it. Popping pills to alleviate it, they go for years, bound by it. But if you and I want to be free from its power over us, we must deal with those negative emotions, that are robbing us of our happiness and our bones from its health. YAHSHUA liberated a woman who was bent by a spirit for eighteen years; just by touching her she was straightened. The good news had come to her on that day, nourishing her bone by the One Who loved her, overwriting the work of the devil He still desires to do the same for us today, if we are willing. King Hezekiah became ill to die. When the message came to him from the Lord, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Him saying, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in faithfulness and in truth, with a whole heart, and have done what is good in You sight. And Hezekiah wept bitterly. He said in the midst of his words, My dwelling is plucked up and is removed from me like a shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life as a weaver. [The Lord] cuts me free from the loom; from day to night You bring me to an end. I thought and quieted myself until morning. Like a lion He breaks all my bones; from day to night, You bring me to an end. The Lord heard his prayer, He saw his tears and He gave Hezekiah fifteen more years (Isaiah 38). He was desperately anxious for his healing. The good news came to him as fast he prayed, bringing his life back from the presence of our Lord to a heart that prayed with faith mingled with strong desire to be healed.
Proverbs says, A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy and wrath are like rottenness of the bones (14:30). The spirit, soul and body are connected in whatever circumstance that happens to us. The spirit- the life of the body; the soul -the expression of the body; the body- the physical, and visible part. Solomon said, By sorrow of heart the spirit is broken (Prov. 15:13b); but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast (Prov. 15:15b).
The Word of the Lord says, The joy of the Lord is our strength. He is our continual feast. Hiding in Him, there will be peace in the midst of bad news, for His presence fills us with good news that brings health to our entire body. He said, Be still and know that I am God! Know Him, His strength, know His faithfulness and love; let His Word find room in your heart and be healed. The best good news for all times is the promise that He is coming to fetch us out of this world. Good news enough to nourish our entire body.
