He Sent His Word and Healed My Diseases

The Word of God says that since [it was] through a man that death [came into the world, it is] also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead [has come] (I Cor. 15: 21). The man Adam brought us death, but the Man-God brought us life. The promise of a Savior stood for thousands of years, until the Man-God was conceived by the Holy Spirit into a woman and was born to bring the world healing. He constituted the Word of God; He was the Word of God that created the world; He always existed, but one day He became flesh and lived among men (John 1:1). God sent His Word to the world to heal it since Adam had spread his contagious roots of sin causing disease to the entire world. Sin is so contagious and addicted that there has been not one that is righteous in the eyes of God, not one. We are all found condemned to hell. Our sins were like leprosy; from the sole of the foot even to the head there was no soundness or health in –but wounds and bruises and fresh and bleeding stripes; they had not been pressed out and closed up or bound up of softened with oil (Isaiah 1: 6). We all sinned and have come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23).  From the time we were conceived we carried the consequences of sin. David said, Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceived me (Psalm 51:5). In the midst of pain and judgment, Jeremiah asked the question: Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people restored? (Jer. 8:22). The balm of Gilead was a rare perfume with healing properties. It received its name from it derived. Gilead was an area of the Jordan River. People have sought this healing balm for centuries. In fact, the caravan that Joseph’s brother sold him to, was carrying this balm to Egypt.

The spiritual “balm of Gilead” is our Savior’s blood shed for the entire world. The saving and healing power of YAHSHUA’S blood is the healing balm God sent to the world to heal all its diseases – spiritual and physical. Satan through his emissary the serpent, bruised men with deadly wounds that killed them spiritually. Men lost his identity of the image of God his Creator; Satan then made him slave to him through sin. We became slaves to sin and powerless to overcome it. But God in His infinite mercy reached out to men and gave him life through the death of His Son, His only Son as in the verse, He sent His Word and healed our diseases. The gift is being given to all who will receive and apply it as the “balm of Gilead” on their wounded and leprous body. It is neither the will of God that we should suffer the wounds of sin, nor eternal death. Our diseases He took upon Himself to heal each one of us.  “By His wounds we are healed and made whole”.  It is conditional though, to those who forsake the life of slavery to sin to embrace the life of sanctification in Christ. Many have taken the wrong road to escape the consequences of their sins; and many are searching for this Balm of Gilead in everything else, but through Christ. God said however, that He sent His Word and healed our diseases. There will be no other way to experience God’s healing of spiritual and physical diseases apart from the life of His Son.

To the early Christians, Paul advised them to be imitators of God, as well-beloved children and walk in love, as Christ loved (them) and gave Himself up for (them), a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance (Ephesians 5:1-2). When He became a sacrifice to His Father we were benefitted with healing that sprang from His love. That was the balm of Gilead the world needed and still needs for its complete healing. The Word of God (YAHSHUA) perfectly fulfilled all the demands of the law and on the cross, while being sacrificed, He healed the world and made it whole. If men would receive this gift, he would be made new, and the wounds that pierced his soul would be healed into eternity. John says, The Word (YAHSHUA) became flesh and tabernacled among us; and we saw His glory, such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace; for out of His fullness we have all received one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift upon gift. For the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through YAHSHUA the Messiah (John 1:14,16-17).

“For out of His fullness we have all received one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even upon favor and gift upon gift”. The world has rejected Him and all His gifts, but all who have accepted Him, will be blessed with all the spiritual blessings in Him. The balm of Gilead poured out was not in vain. Its spiritual and physical properties have touched many and we have been healed and made whole. The closer we are to Him, the more that we will experience His blessings and that includes the blessing of healing. The Word says, by His stripes we are healed and that settled it. Paul warned us not to grief the Holy Spirit of God by Whom we are sealed for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4: 30); He is the guarantee of our inheritance, in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it – to the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:14).

God sent His Son to the world to heal and save you and me through His sufferings and death. Don’t blame God if you are found in hell at the end of your life for having rejected His Gift- His Son, Who is His Living Word!” He sent His Word and healed all our diseases!”
