YAHSHUA at Thirty Years Old

YAHSHUA, by addressing Mary the way He did, was letting her know that the time had come when He must perform the works of His Father; the human tie with His mother had been broken. That takes us to the time when He was twelve years old and had gone with His family to the Passover Feast. After it was over, YAHSHUA had remained in Jerusalem without His parents knowing it. After three days of looking for Him, this was His response to them: How is it that you had to look for Me? Did you not see and know that it is necessary for Me to be in My Father’s house and [occupied] about My Father’s business? (Luke 2:42-49). In truth, Mary knew Who that child was from the time of conception, when the angel told her, Mary, you have found grace with God. And listen! You will become pregnant and you will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His forefather David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob throughout the ages; and of His reign there will be no end (Luke 1:30-33).

When they found Him after three days, Mary said to Him, Child, why have You treated us like this? Here Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You (Luke 2:48b). YAHSHUA refreshed His mother’s memory, by reminding her that His purpose to be in this earth was to do His heavenly Father’s business. At the age of twelve in His Jewish custom, YAHSHUA was an adult and was then responsible for His actions. YAHSHUA then begins His ministry not as the Son of Mary, but as the Son of God. That was very much necessary for people not to put Mary on the pedestal, where only YAHSHUA belonged. Even though it has been done for many years, the truth is clearly expressed in the pages of the Bible. Mary herself needed to be saved through the sacrifice of YAHSHUA, like any other person. When He was baptized, God’s voice filled the air with these words: This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! (Matt. 3:17). The same words were heard by the disciples at the Mount of Transfiguration; This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am delighted. Listen to Him! When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were seized with alarm and struck with fear (Matt. 17:5-6). The Son of God stoop low, to become man in order to suffer as human and ultimately die as human dies, for a short time of three days he experienced death for the purpose to save men from the power of eternal death. He did this, not as the Son of Mary, but as the Son of God.

The disciples knew that He was the Son of Mary; they needed to know that He was not the Son of Joseph, but the Son of God. The break that took place from His mother, was beneficial for all to understand that He was as Peter confessed: You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. His ministry proved Him to be so through all the miracles and signs He performed among His people. Although, some still questioned Him when thought Him to be the Son of Mary and Joseph.  If they only would perceive Him to be the gift the world was not worthy of, they would have received Him. He was the One Who the prophets and the righteous of old desired to see! YAHSHUA so confirmed this fact with these words: but blessed are your eyes, because they do see, and your ears, because they do hear; truly, I tell you, many prophets and righteous men yearned to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear and did not hear it (Matt. 13:16-17). He came and the world did not recognize Him, in spite of all the signs that pointed Him to be the Son of God! He was the Light that came into the world, but the world rejected the Light, to remain in the darkness; He was the Truth, but the world rejected the Truth to remain in the dark of their ignorance. He was the Way, but people chose their own way; He was life, but the world followed the way of death.

At thirty-three years old, YAHSHUA accomplished all that He had come to do by redeeming the world with His own life. For three days He remained dead, but He was risen on the third day, victoriously! Redemption was finalized. God and men now reconciled through the life of His Son. He said at the end: IT IS FINISHED! God the Father heard, and said, AMEN!  And I say, His life for your life. Receive Him now!
