Two by Two

And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth; He was grieved at heart (Gen. 6:6). After God had finished creating all that He created, He said, It is good. He was pleased with what He had created. And so, it was another day in His creating until He finished, but never stop creating. The Hebrew word “regret” here denotes emotions: sadness, grief, etc. When Satan came into the scene, everything changed from purity to filthiness; from good to bad and to worse. The garden no longer was peaceful, for fear entered in the hearts of Adam and Eve, and they hid themselves from God; the relationship was broken. From that time on, sin gained ground and multiplied to homicide through their first son, Cain, who killed his brother, Abel. And that’s how the world grew into a spiritually filthy environment. With the death of their son, Abel, who was the godly seed, God gave Adam and Eve another son, whom they called Seth. From him the godly seed sprang up to Noah and beyond, from whom the Son of God, YAHSHUA came. Here are the generations from Adam to Noah: Adam- Seth- Enosh- Cainan- Mahalalel-Jared- Enoch- Methuselah- Lamech- Noah. These were the generations of God-fearing people. The majority of the world of those days, as it is today, was progressively corrupt. So much so, that the heart of God was deeply grieved at his creation. According to the ancient book of Jasher, The year that Noah’s father Lamech died, all those who knew the Lord also died. God removed them through death the year before He brought judgment upon the earth; at that same time, God spoke to Noah and his grandfather, Methuselah commanding them to proclaim the sins of men to bring them to repentance before His judgment fell on them. Men, however refused to hear. One hundred and twenty years were given the people to repent, and to turn to the Lord. As it is with God, He will always warn the people through His servants about His judgment. Amos 3:7 says: Surely the Lord will do nothing without reveling His secret to His servants the prophets.

Noah was the only one upright in the sight of God in those days; He chooses him to warn the people to repentance before judgment, and to build the ark of salvation for him, his family and the animals God would bring to him at the proper time.

Noah was 595 years old when he started building the ark, according to the instructions the Lord God gave him. I am sure he was made fun of at that time, since rain didn’t exist then. And in five years he completed it. At the death of his grand-father, Methuselah five years later, the Lord commanded Noah and his family to enter the ark; he was then 600 years old.  The Lord told Noah, I will gather to you all the animals, including the fowls of the air; you sit by the door of the ark, and all the animals and fowls will gather before you; those who will crouch before you, you will take them in; but those who stand before you, you must leave them out. However, the clean animals and the clean fowls, Noah brough in seven couples, according to the word of the Lord.

Before He sent His judgment on the people, God gave them one week to repent, through causing the whole earth to shake, the sun to darken, the foundations of the world to rage, the entire earth to move violently; thunder to roar, and the fountains to brake.  But not even then did the people turn to the Lord in repentance.  Then at the end of the seven days given them to repent, the waters filled the earth. God’s judgement was now at its full strength. All the fountains of the deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened and it rained forty days and forty nights. The animals who were left outside the ark, remained still surrounding the ark; the people, seven hundred thousand of them- men and women came to the ark asking Noah to open the door of the ark, saying, We are ready to return to the Lord; only open for us that we may live and not die; to that Noah replied, Have you not rebelled against the Lord, You even said He did not exist? Now this evil has come to destroy you. The people together came against the ark to break it, but the Lord intervened by sending all the animals that were surrounding the ark against the people and they fled from them.

(This extra information is from the ancient book of Jasher).

For one hundred and twenty years the people were warned of the coming of God’s judgment upon them. God even gave them one week extra just before it happened, but nothing made a difference; as a result, they died in their sins, condemned to hell. We are now in those days of Noah; More than two thousand years have been given to the world to hear the Gospel – the good news of salvation; and the coming God’s judgment upon the earth; and this time, it will be destroyed by fire. God’s desire continues to be that all people would be saved from His wrath; that is the reason why He will be sending His two witnesses in those days for three and one-half years; He will send angels, one will be flying mid- air with the eternal Gospel to tell to the inhabitants of the earth, to every race and tribe and language and people; he will fly with a mighty voice saying, Revere God and give Him glory, for the hour of His judgment has arrived. Fall down before Him; pay Him homage and adoration and worship Him Who created heaven and earth, the sea  and the springs of water; the other angel will warn the people with a mighty voice saying, Whoever pays homage to the beast and his statue and permits the stamp to be put on his forehead or on his hand, he too shall drink of the wine of God’s indignation and wrath poured undiluted into the cup of His anger; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no respite day or night – these who pay homage to the beast and to his image and whoever receives the stamp of his name upon him (Rev. 11; 14).

Just as were in the days of Noah, when many people cried to have the door of the ark opened, many will cry to God asking Him to open the door, but He will answer, I do not know you! That, my friend, will be final for you who rejected Him; who played church; but has never had a relationship with Him. YAHSHUA so confirms when He said, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father, Who is in heaven; many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? and then I will say to them openly, I never knew you; depart  from Me, you who act wickedly (Matt. 7: 21-23). How is it possible, we ask the question; God knows the heart of men. Relationship with Him, is that which connects us with Him 24/7. Relationship is God knowing us and we knowing Him; to know is to be in touch with God and to know His heart. Apart from Him we can do nothing, according to the words of YAHSHUA in John fifteenth. Do you know Him, does He know you?
