In the Twinkling of an Eye

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet call… These words parallel those in Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians 4: 16: For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those in Christ, who departed this life will rise first, then we the living ones, who remain, shall simultaneously be caught up along with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always we shall be with the Lord! (I Thess. 4:16-17). This happening will take place “in a moment of a twinkling of an eye!” How fast is that? Imagine, millions of people all over the world going through this transformation at one time and simultaneously catching up with the resurrected ones, filling the sky with the glory of the resurrection! It will be beyond description. I am not sure if those who will be left will witness such a supernatural act of God. The news media will probably interpret the disappearance of all these people as an act of the aliens, in their strong delusion of the truth, as Paul said will come upon them, for not have believed the Truth. Under the influence of the antichrist, the media will be guided by “unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception;” as it has already started. Therefore, God sends upon them a misleading influence, a working of error and a strong delusion to make them believe what is false. (II Thess. 2:10-11).

Like a metamorphosis from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly, which has to go through several stages to become a beautiful butterfly, the bride of Christ has to go through several stages to achieve the last one, which is her glorified body. The first, the natural birth, the second, the spiritual birth, or the new birth, the third, the process of sanctification, and the fourth, the glorification at the time of our departure from this world, when YAHSHUA will come to take us away. The apostle John says in his first letter: …We know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. (I John 3:2). “We shall be like Him” is the final stage we will go through in our Christian faith.  That’s when the perishable puts on the imperishable, when the mortal puts on immortality, when death is finally defeated, when the power of sin loses its holds on us, as Paul concludes: When this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up in and unto victory (I Cor. 15:54). These words are echoed from the prophet Isaiah 25:8. The process of sanctification is slow, for it takes the span of our life on earth. It is arduous and difficult and many leave the way. Seemly, they love the world more than a life of submission to holiness.

Then the question, O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?  Will resound with the shout of victory when all will be restored and all nations will bow down at the feet of the Messiah YAHSHUA, giving Him glory, honor, praise, power for evermore! For God has disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them in triumphing over them… (Col. 2:15). Thanks be to God, Paul said, Who gives us the victory through our Lord YAHSHUA the Messiah (I Cor. 15:55,57). Even nature will rejoice with God’s saints, for in this process, it will be restored (Rom. 8:19-21). The tears shed, the sorrows felt in the soul of man for our loved ones will be history in the pages of history itself, when death will be defeated forever; when our glorious hope will no longer be hope, but reality in the presence of our Lord and Savior, YAHSHUA the Messiah, “in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye.” We have read, we have heard about our hope of glory, and have believed, but we will understand it fully when we arrive at our heavenly home, for we know (now) in part, but then shall we know even as also we are known (I Cor. 2:9). Our hope of glory is our resurrection, which will be executed with the same power in which God raised His Son from the dead, and He raised us up together with Him. We believers have been guaranteed our resurrection, through the death and resurrection of our Lord YAHSHUA, when He was raised from the dead and God seated Him at His right hand, and made us sit together with Him in the heavenly (Eph. 2:6).

The believer’s life should be one of waiting for their blessed hope- the glorious appearing of our Lord YAHSHUA, in which He will transform our corrupt body into an uncorrupt body at a speed of light; when death will be swallowed up in victory; when sin no longer will have  sting and control over us; when tears will be wiped away forever; no more sorrow, no more pain, no more anguish of the soul; when in purity we will forever adore Him in true worship, for we know when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is (I John 3:2). “In a twinkling of an eye we shall all be changed” at the sound of God’s trumpet! It will be like hearing our names being called- come up here, for our names are written in the book of life and the roll will be called from heaven to those who have forsaken self’s desire, who have taken up their cross and followed YAHSHUA to the end.

My friend, is your name written in the book of life, will you hear it being called on that day when God’s trumpet will be sounding? Call on His name today for your salvation. It is only a call away. Your name will be in the heaven’s roll, and you will hear it when the trumpet of God will sound calling us upwardly.
