A glance of hope
Filled the soul
Of a condemned man
Once lost in sin
Now redeemed
By the blood of
Christ crucified!
No longer afraid
Of death’s sting
He remained to the end
Secured on the promise
Today, you will be
With Me in paradise
Echoing in his mind.
When breath was no more
And suffering, a thing
Of the past, his last breath
The Savior’s voice
He heard on his way
To paradise, Welcome
My child, for you I died!
No more condemnation
But redemption
No more death
But eternal life
No more rags
But a robe
Of righteousness
Embraced by eternity
With the arms of the One
Who died for him,
Crying, he said,
My Lord and my God!
Eternal thanks to you
I give in paradise!
