Discerning the Times and Signs of the End

In the parable of illustration of the ten virgins, we see that they had one thing in common: they were called Christians. Obviously, they went to church and were active there. However, one thing separated them: the presence of the Holy Spirit- the oil in their lamp, or the lack of. This situation is found in the book of Matthew 7:21-23 where the Lord emphatically said, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven. But he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven; many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly. When the five foolish bride were not prepared to meet the bridegroom, they were in the same category as the unfaithful- those whom the Lord does not know.

The call came for the ten virgins to meet the bridegroom, however, the five foolish ones went the opposite direction, toward the dark of the night without oil in their lamps to lighten their way. That is, emptiness of the presence of the Holy Spirit, Who has sealed the true believers, guaranteeing their inheritance, in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring possession of it (Ephesians 1:14). They were lost in their unbelief of the truth and not being sealed with the Holy Spirit, guaranteeing their salvation. I call this seal the engagement ring. The Holy Spirit is our engagement ring until the marriage of the Lamb will happen. The signs of the times are everywhere pointing us to the end of all things, bringing out the new era for all. Recognize it and be prepared to meet YAHSHUA. He is coming to relieve us from all persecution- when He is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in a flame of fire to deal out retribution upon those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord YAHSHUA Messiah (II Thess. 1:4b-5,7-8). The Thessalonians thought that the rapture was going to happen in their life time. Mislead by some, they believed to have been left behind, for the suffering they were enduring. Believers in those early days were faithfully watching for the Lord’s return and were connected to the possibility of His coming at their time span on earth. The Bible warns us to know and discern the times. In II Thessalonians 2, Paul lays out the order in which things will happen beginning the rapture, (the departure) followed by the coming of the lawless one- the antichrist and his destruction. The precursor of that time is happening now, preparing the world for Satan’s reign. Look up!  YAHSHUA told us to do. Look up, for your redemption is near, as the signs of the end manifest themselves right before our eyes. This is not a time to fear, but to be warriors like bride, for the weapon of our warfare is not carnal, but spiritual; they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds (II Cor. 10:4).

The Lord’s shout, calling us upward could be at midnight; a time of rest, nevertheless, ready at the sound of His calling. The Lord’s shout could be when we are not expecting, but ready with our lamps filled with the oil that will lead us upward to Him. It is time to pray – the means and power that connect us to God. Let’s enter His Holy of Holies with confidence through the blood of Him who loves us and saved us. Prayer is the connecting line from our hearts to His heart. As we understand the signs of the times, let’s remain in His presence, for it is there that our mind will be free from all the torments of fear. The importance of understanding the signs of the times, is that it gives us spiritual discernment into preparedness to see the Lord. Many years ago, He spoke to the Prophet Isaiah saying, Do not walk in the way of this people, do not call conspiracy all that this people call conspiracy; neither be in fear of what they fear, not in dread. The Lord of hosts, regard Him as holy and honor His holy name and let Him be your fear and let Him be your dread, and He shall be a sanctuary (Isaiah 8: 11-14a). It is time for the bride of Messiah to rise up from the ashes of doubt and fear; it is time for her to trust in her Bridegroom’s promise, and believe the today’s prophets He has established to help us to perceive and understand the signs of the times. Today, is such time!
