When we enter the Holy of Holies – into the presence of YAHWEH, our prayer should be with perseverance of faith, interceding for our brothers and sisters in the Lord, as well as for ourselves. Satan never rests until he sees us discouraged and weak. Peter was warned by our Lord YAHSHUA when Satan wanted to destroy him. But YAHSHUA warned him saying, Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has asked excessively that you be given up to him, that he might sift you like grain; but I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren (Luke 22:31-32). The Lord made Simon know of what Satan desired to do with his life; at the same time, He assured him that he was covered with His prayer. If YAHSHUA, being God, adopted prayer on behalf of Peter to fight Satan’s weapon against him, shouldn’t we much more apply this part of the armor of God on our behalf and others? Prayer, never underestimate its power.
When agonizing in the Garden of Gethsemane, YAHSHUA very much needed the prayers of his disciples to fight the weapon coming against Him to keep Him from going to the cross. But none was able to stand with Him, for weakness had taken over them in those dark hours. YAHSHUA fought alone in earnest prayer saying, Father, If You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done. And being in an agony, He prayed more earnestly and intently, and His sweat became like great clots of blood dropping down upon the ground (Luke 22:42,44). That was a powerful weapon coming against our Savior when He was emotionally and physical weak. But not even then Satan’s power could overpower His. The Bible says that the earnest prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (James 4:16b). So, no weapon of any kind that is not ordained from the Lord will accomplish its purpose in the life of the believer, who is no longer under condemnation, who is not living according to the desires of his flesh.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed (us) from the law of sin and death (Rom. 8:2). We are shielded by the blood of the Lamb against Satan’s weapon, although it still comes against us; in our lack of prayer, we are hit and fall prey to him. But the fact of the matter is that there is now no more condemnation for those who are God’s. That is important to know in our Christian living to be able to rise against the enemy with confidence. Satan often uses the weapon of the spirit of fear to disturb the mind with doubt. But keeping in constant prayer, we will be secured in the shelter of God’s love. For it is love that will throw fear out of doors and rid every trace of terror! Abiding in love, we are abiding in our heavenly Father, Who is love. And that will assure us that we have reached the full maturity of love (I John 4:18). Faith is the victory that conquers the weapon Satan throws at us; it is the shield that will quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one] (Eph. 6:16). it is also important for us to realize that only by subjecting ourselves to God, will we be able to resist the devil for him to flee from us (James 4:7). Then, no weapon coming against us will prosper.
And since we have a great and wonderful and noble Priest… let us all come forward and draw near with true hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith, having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water, so let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable and faithful to His word (Heb. 10:21-23). Yes, He is faithful to fulfill all His promises to us when we apply His Word to our heart. In victory we can lift up to the throne of grace our brothers and sisters who are walking the valleys and deserts of life, and ourselves, so that we will not fall into the temptation of doubting God’s word and fall short of His promise that “No weapon formed against them shall prosper.” The body of Christ must learn to feel the pain of those who are suffering, in order to pray earnestly from the heart, with sincerity of mind and in agreement with the Holy Spirit’s desire, “For we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness” (Rom. 8:26).
THINK ABOUT IT!
