When You Are in Tribulation in the Latter Days

Tribulation, as a result, has been predicted for the nation of Israel through prophets such as Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel, Zachariah, Amos, Zephaniah, and others. They have been warned and continue being warned of the terrible times coming to them and to the entire world.  Israel’s disloyalty to God started after they had left Egypt. Three months had passed since they had left when God appeared to them at Mount Sinai in Arabia. That was an experience that never had happened before neither or after to any nation when God Himself came down to covenant with the nation of Israel and the ten commandments were promulgated. The sight of that mountain was ablaze with fire, gloom and darkness and a raging storm; with a blast of a trumpet and a voice whose words make the listeners beg that nothing more be said to them (Exod. 19:12-22;20:18-21). The people could not bear the command that was given: If even a wild animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned to death; in fact, so awful and terrifying was the [phenomenal] that Moses said, I am terrified (Deut. 9:19).  Israel however forgot or did not understand the meaning of the covenant God made with them. They broke it soon after Moses went up to God to receive the tables of the commandments. Forty days and forty nights he remained in the presence of God as He Himself wrote them. The people became anxious after Moses’ delay and made the decision to break the covenant, when they made for themselves a molten calf as their god proclaiming, These are your gods, O Israel, which bought you up out of the land of Egypt! (Exodus 32:1, 4). Aaron, the priest, encouraged them to worship it when he made proclamation saying, Tomorrow shall be a feast to the Lord (Vs.5).  They rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and bought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play (32:6). Confusion set in their hearts as they were controlled by their fleshly desires.

This act showed Israel’s adultery and the breaking of the covenant with their God. When they “rose up to play” they were following the practices of idol-worship in its sensual way which led to sensuality. Although, God remained faithful to His part of the covenant, and led them all the way to the Promised Land, Israel was from that moment alienated from spiritual blessings, and under the condemnation of punishment. Many of the Israelites died in that wilderness, failing to reach the Promised Land for their unfaithfulness to God, but their children pursued to enter the Land. Before his death, Moses called Israel together and instructed the nation to obedience to God to receive blessings, and warned them of the curses that would follow them in their disobedience. Moses prophesied their departure from his teachings and consequently, God’s punishment in the form of the great tribulation. He said, For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days because you will do what is evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands (Deut. 31:29).

Moses was talking about the great tribulation that will leave the earth desolated. Jeremiah called it “Jacob’s trouble,” An angel called it a time of trouble, straightness and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time (Dan. 12:1a); Joel called it a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and of thick mists and darkness, (2:2). YAHSHUA said that will be no escape from it, only for those who will stand in His presence. The world is being led to that time when lawlessness will take over under the government of the antichrist.  It is being prepared for “Jacob’s trouble.” Israel must acknowledge the warning to be able to escape. There is forgiveness for all those who will repent and turn to God and embrace the new covenant, which is the covenant of blood, which was poured out from the source of Life- YAHSHUA when He was crucified. Only by His blood there will be remission of sin for Israel and for all who will seek YAHSHUA’S forgiveness. To Daniel was given visions of future kings and kingdoms, which some have come and gone and yet one will stand in the last days to take control over the earth. It will be like in the days after the flood, when men tried to unite as one people, even though, God had told them to fill the earth, not just one section of it. Israel is very much part of it, outside the anti-Semitism ideology, many have embraced as a basis to destroy it, we speak in light of the Scripture.

What lies hidden from the public eyes, but that are surfacing slowly, points directly to a large number of Jews today, showing their role in the world in the latter days, fulfilling prophecy of thousands years ago. The Word of God calls for understanding, discernment, and ears to hear and be listening concerning the events that will take place. The obscurity of what is unfolding today exists because of lack of spiritual discernment and understanding of what the Holy Spirit is expressing to the churches. This is the mentioned evil time approaching the end and only a few can discern it in light of the prophetic Scripture.

Rome was the last world empire; it ruled the world in the time of YAHSHUA on earth. They punished Him mercilessly and crucified Him. The Roman Empire had a say in every decision that led to fulfill God’s Word, including the death of His Son.  It destroyed Jerusalem and the temple and killed many through their ruling. Daniel says that the antichrist will come from the empire that destroyed Jerusalem. Would it be from one of the nations that was part of this empire? Putting in perspective, what we see and learn today, it could well be that. The Jewish nation will once more continue breaking its covenant with their God by signing a covenant with the devil, instead. That will bring the wrath of God upon them and the nations of the world in the event of the great tribulation. Isaiah prophesied about this saying: Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have an agreement – when overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter; therefore says the Lord God, I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the hiding place and your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through, then you will be trodden down by it (Isaiah 28:15,17-18).

Israel is a nation the world has rejected and humiliated; the world, in the hands of Hitler, tried to erase their existence and many others continue shouting, “Death to Israel.” But Israel hasn’t seen anything yet. It will be only when God sends His wrath upon them and the world that Israel will realize their sin against God and turn to the covenant with Him. Many will be saved, as in a third of them (Zech. 13: 8-9).  Salvation will come to Israel through the Lord fighting for them and delivering them (Zech. 14).  And the Lord shall be King over all the earth; in that day the Lord shall be one and His name one (Zech. 14:9).
