Positioned as children of God, He raised us together with Him and made us sit down together in the heavenly sphere in Christ-YAHSHUA. He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable riches of His free grace in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us is Christ YAHSHUA (Eph. 2:6-7). We are beyond blessed in the presence of our Father. We are hidden in Him, even though, we do not embrace and appreciate His love and privileges available to us. The answer to that is because many of us are living the life of the flesh… for if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Messiah, he is none of His…for [only those] who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God (Rom. 8:14). They have been adopted into the family of God; to them was given the right to be called sons of God (Jn. 1:12). Beloved, we are now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He is (I John 3:2). The children of God hold unto this hope and promise for eternity. It is our happiness, our joy of our salvation.
YAHSHUA said, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one wicked person who repents than over ninety-nine persons who have no need of repentance (Luke 15:7). Our God values us more than we are worthy. Imagine heaven’s celebration over a worthless sinner as we are before our holy God! He freed and adopted us as His children; we are led by His Spirit; therefore, we are confirmed to be His children; the Spirit Himself testifies together with our own spirit that we are children of God; we are His heirs also; heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:14-17). In the parable of the prodigal son, who left family and all its comfort to join the pleasures of the world, we see the love of a father shown in many ways. Firstly, the father never forgot him and continuously waited for his son. The repented son admitted his sins, saying, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son. But the father said to his bond servants, Bring quickly the best robe and put it on him and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet and bring out that [wheat-fatted calf and kill it ; and let us revel and feast and be happy and make merry, because this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found! And they began to revel and feast and make merry. (Luke 15:11-24)
Clearly, this parable is not about adoption, but about a son who decided to alienated himself from his family. Comparing this with men as God’s creation after they alienated themselves from God the Creator, the parallel of the parable brings the need for repentance for one to be re-instated into the family; and the other, separated from God because of sin, had to be redeemed through the blood of God’s Son for forgiveness and acceptance into God’s family, for the Bible says, since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory of God; all are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely by His grace through the redemption which is in Messiah YAHSHUA (Rom. 3:23-24). So, we when we repented of our sins and accepted YAHSHUA’S as Savior and Lord, we became children of God. He forgave, justified and sanctified us and imputed His righteousness in us. He dressed us with a new robe, a ring (the Holy Spirit), and new shoes to walk in close relationship with Him. How can a sinner comprehend such demonstration of unselfish, unconditional love from our holy God? That should compel us to love and to obey Him with all our being.
In an intimacy, we can call Him “Daddy” confident of our position in Him. There is no greater sentiment of security for an orphan, who was destituted from society than that of belonging to someone who loves and cares for him. So, should be for the humankind concerning the love of God!
The Orphan’s Cry
Solitude in the midst
Of a storm ragging
To and fro in the mind
That is, of a child
As his future is snatched away
His present crumbles
With uncertainty and fear
In the arms of his destiny
Darkness embraces his heart
His mind seeks a place to rest
And forget the pain of hunger
Until another day
He sleeps in the cold
Expressing sorrow with sobs
In the dark of the night
When all is quiet, but his heart
As the world turns
Bringing a new day, the light
Of hope sparkles his mind
His morning has arrived!
He begs for food
Maybe a piece of bread
While the crowd rushes by
Through his space of time
But in that moment of time
His cries land in deaf ears
Indifferent to the sobs
Of that orphan child
Wrapped up in the cruelty
Of the world’s indifference
He curls up in self
His own means of comfort,
Waiting in the dark of the night
For another day to rise
With hope of open ears
If only they would hear his cry!
In a trash can not too far
He finds his meal
Day in and day out
‘Tis the life of an orphan child
A child of whom Christ said,
Let him come unto Me
For his is the kingdom of heaven
A child who found comfort
In the arms of the Savior
Has not found room
In the inn of the human heart
To occupy the mind
He still cries for arms today
Who would embrace him
Warming his heart
With hope for his tomorrow!
This pictures all of us who are alienated from our Creator God, Who so much desires us to be His child!
