Sadly, women’s virtues have not been acknowledged, but ignored in many countries for they have been looked at as weak vessels for men to abuse her sexually in his complete control of her. The world has cruelly stepped on the hearts of women and bruised their emotions. Handicapped with pain, many have kept the hurt to themselves, even today. They live a life of suppressed and silent emotion. However, greater however, has been the love of our Savior for women. To start, the woman is most blessed for having been chosen to be the mother of God’s Son, when He was incarnate to be the Savior of mankind. Men were the ones to crucify Him in order to accomplish the purpose for which He came. And they did with cruelty of heart.
Still a young girl, not understanding the complexity of the task, Mary asked the angel this question, How can this be, since I have no husband? Then the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and so the holy Thing which shall be born of you will be born of you will be called the Son of God…Then Mary said, Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let I be done to me according to what you have said. (Luke 1:34,35) Mary is to be most honored and considered most blessed of all women. This is a position that cared a great weight of responsibility, of character, and everything else that comprised the task, for we are all sinners and to live physically every day in the presence of God’s Son is more that I could handle.
YAHSHUA’S ministry was very much made up of female disciples. There would not have been a well-supplied ministry without women. There were eight women that followed YAHSHUA’S ministry where ever He went. They were: Mary Magdalene delivered from seven demons; Joana, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, Susana, an older woman, Mary, Martha, Mary the wife of Clopas, Mary, the mother of James and Salome. These women were faithful servants of YAHSHUA. Thy sacrificed financially and physically to supply all the needs of YAHSHUA’S ministry. Even after His death, they went to the tomb with spices to anoint His body. But they found the tomb empty, when they were reminded by the two men who were at the tomb (Moses and Elijah) that He was to rise on the third day. They took the message to the disciples, who did not believe them. So, it was that while the disciples were dispersed afraid, of the Jewish authorities, the women were at the tomb, bringing spices to anoint His body. They stayed with Him all the way to His death. We must remember that it was a woman that God used to anoint His Son for His burial four days before His death. Mary was her name, Martha’s sister. While Martha enjoyed entertaining YAHSHUA, Mary found comfort at His feet, listening to His teachings. It was to a woman that YAHSHUA first appeared after His resurrection, to Mary Magdalene, while she looked for Him, sobbing. By the cross of YAHSHUA stood His mother, His mother’s sister, Mary the [wife] of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. Before He died, He said to His mother, “woman, See your son! Then He said to the disciple, See, your mother! And from that hour, the disciple took her into his own” (John19:25-28) For a dying person, there is no better comfort than the company of friends at one’s last hours on earth.
There was no greater honor for these women than that of serving their Lord, YAHSHUA. With certainty, they continued involved in the ministry years after YAHSHUA went to heaven. They were part of the great commission by making it possible through their support. Today, women are in every position in Christian ministry. They are God’s chosen and anointed for special tasks. God’s calling continues, Who will go to be our mouths, feet, hands? There are always opportunities available for women to serve the Lord. Never too old to give a hand of love to the needy ones lost in the dark of this world. YAHSHUA died for all, let’s be His faithful servants until He comes!
