Jacob and the Stone Pillow

Jacob, tired of the trip, came to a place to lodge for the night and for a pillow he chose a stone. Is spite of what Abraham had, Jacob should have left with plenty for his journey. But the story does not tell us. So, we understand that he was limited with possessions on his adventure in moving to a new home. Jacob left with little, but he left with an amazing inheritance through Abraham’s blessings and God’s promise. The blessing which Isaac uttered over him was prophetic in meaning in that Jacob was the chosen one to be the father of many nations, and it will be from Him that Messiah would come, the promise given to his father, Abraham. To Jacob it was reiterated through a dream; in his dream, he saw a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! And behold, the Lord stood over and beside him and said, I am the Lord the God of Abraham, you father and the God of Isaac; I will give to you and to your descendants the land on which you are lying, and your offspring shall be as the dust or sand of the ground, and you shall spread abroad to the west and the east and the north and the south; and by you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed and bless themselves; and behold, I am with you and will keep  you wherever you may go, and I will bring you back to this land, for I will not leave you until I have done all of which I have told you (Gen. 28: 12-16). This was a vivid image of the future when Messiah would come, connecting heaven and earth, visualizing God’s future plan of salvation through His Son, YAHSHUA Whom was coming from the descendance of Jacob. Angels ascending and descending on it were the messengers on the night of YAHSHUA’S birth, announcing the fulfilment of His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Connecting heaven and earth.  God’s promise Stood firm in heaven, One that would change men and the world from eternity to eternity. The redeemed of the Lord would now sing a song of redemption throughout time without end. The abode of men will be with God. Their identification will be, “Sons and daughters of God.” Revelation five gives us the picture of the fulfillment of the completion of our redemption:

 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to lose the seals thereof?

And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to lose the seven seals thereof.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.

And they sung a new song, saying, You art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou were slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sists upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen.

And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that lives for ever and ever.
