The manner in which the disciples walked after the departure of our Lord to heaven, sparkled belief in YAHSHUA by all who witnessed the miracle they performed. Their testimony spoke of whom they had been with, when Peter and John told the crowd, “Let it be known and understood by all of you, and by the whole house of Israel, that in the name and through the power and authority of YAHSHUA Messiah of Nazareth, Whom you crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, in Him and by means of Him this man is standing here before you well and sound in body. This is the Stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the head of the corner. And there is no salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered and eloquence of Peter and John, perceiving that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools, they marveled and they recognized that they had been with YAHSHUA” (Acts 4:10-13).
Two things were visible in their lives that shone God’s presence in them and with them: boldness in telling them the truth concerning YAHSHUA, when pointing the fact that it was they who had crucified the Lord and eloquence in their speech, for Peter and John were unlearned fishmen. That’s all they did for a living. But YAHSHUA transformed them to be His spokesmen. He told them not to worry when they were brought before the synagogue and the magistrates and the authorities. Not to be anxious how they shall reply in defense or what they are to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach them in that very hour and moment what they ought to say (Luke 12:11-12). The powerful word of God resounded to the ears of the people the truth, opening their eyes to see and understand it, as Peter and John preached the good news of the Gospel. They heard and marveled and reasoned among themselves that it was because these disciples had been with YAHSHUA that they performed the miracle.
We are disciples of YAHSHUA, with the task to share the message of YAHSHUA’S love with all we meet. Many times, through our actions more than with words, as circumstances allow us. But also, with words of comfort, counselling those who are hopeless and helpless. Sometimes with action and words, provided that our actions agree with our words. The world around us is looking for answers to their doubts and fears, for spiritual, emotional and physical healing. YAHSHUA said, “Let your light so shine, so that they may see your good works and glorify your heavenly Father” (Matt. 5:16). He has given power to exercise faith that heals, cast out demons, power to be overcomers. He said to the seventy disciples who He had sent out, “I saw Satan falling like lightening from heaven, when the disciples returned with joy saying, even the demons are subject to us in Your name! He said, Behold, I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions; over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall in any way harm you” (Luke 9: 1-19). We are equipped with everything good to do God’s will, which is pleasing in His sight. (Heb.13:21a). Until He comes, let’s shine His love to the world, one person at a time!
