A Gentile and righteous man called Abraham, became the father of all nations, because he believed God in his trial, when God asked him to sacrifice his son, his only son. Believing that God would bring his son to life in order to fulfill his promise of long ago to Adam and Eve, he obeyed God and was rewarded by Him. He said to him, “In blessing, I will bless you and in multiplying, I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heaven and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir YAHSHUA) will possess the gate of His enemies; and in your Seed (YAHSHUA) shall all the nations of the earth be blessed and [by Him] bless themselves, because you have heard and obeyed My voice” (Gen. 22:17-18). Because Abraham believed God, He sent His Son through Abraham’s descendants and through YAHSHUA, all nations were recipients of the promised blessing, when He gave His life to ransom the world of the penalty of sin. He purchased the world with His own blood. In YAHSHUA Messiah, we are all sons and daughters of Abraham by faith in YAHSHUA. In Him, Jews and Gentiles are one. No distinction according to Paul writings to the Romans and Galatians: there is no difference between Jews and Greeks. They all have the same Lord, who gives His riches to everyone who calls on Him; and there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor male and female, for all are one in Christ YAHSHUA. Understand then that those who have faith are children of Abraham.
All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me] (Mark 9:23). This was YAHSHUA’S answer to a father whose son was possessed by demons from the time he was a little boy. In his desperation, he implored YAHSHUA saying, If You can do anything, do have pity on us and help us. YAHSHUA said, [You say to Me] if you can do anything? [Why,] all things are possible to him who believes. He then with an eager, piercing inarticulate] cry with tears, said, Lord, I believe! Help my weakness of faith! All of us can identify with this man. In our inability to understand how to believe, we cry over and over, Lord, have pity on us, and heal us, when as a matter of fact, His word has said, By My stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53). The man of the story showed not to know YAHSHUA as the Son of God, the Resurrection and Life, the Creator of all living things, the Messiah Who was to come when he said, “If You can do anything.” When we keep asking for things already given us, we show not to believe in the impossible.
The Prophet Jeremiah cried to the Lord saying, “Heal me O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me and I shall be saved, for You are my praise” (Jer. 17:14). In his utterance, Jeremiah acknowledged God as the Healer and as the Savior; the Lord the reason of his praise. Believing in the existence of our God, our heart is filled with faith and thanksgiving, for believing is the foundation of our wellbeing. A life void of faith is a life on slippery ground, never being able to stand firmly on decisions, because it is controlled by doubt and fear.
It was midnight in the lives of Paul and Silas, when the doors of jail where they were fastened, were supernaturally opened. Beaten and put in prison (dungeon) for their faith, they never lost their faith to believe that all things are possible to those who believe and trust in God. In their testimony of faith, they evangelized the prisoners through praises they offered to God. As a result, the jailer and his family accepted the message of salvation. Our belief that all things are possible with God shines our faith to the lost and hopeless world. The way we live determines the strength of our faith in God. Walking by faith and not by sight is commanded by the word of God. The letter to the Hebrews reads, “Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward, for you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away what is promised… For the just shall live by faith; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no pleasure in him” (Heb. 10:35-36,38).
Believing that all things are possible is not easy for some of us when faced with uncertainty of circumstances. The mind, the control center of the body, is never in line with God’s word, for it is contrary to God’s principles. Paul said, “Now the mind of the flesh is death; because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot” (Rom. 8:6a-7). We fail to exercise the power God gave us for not believing His promises. The Word of God promises that believing in Him “we shall tread upon the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent we shall trample underfoot.” (Ps. 91: 13) To dread and to trample is to press or to beat with the feet as to crush or injure; to oppress or subdue as if by stepping on (Webster). These words denote action; they show strong connotations. YAHSHUA gave to the disciples verbal power over Satan and his demons when He said, “Behold, I have given authority and power to trample upon the serpents and scorpions and over all the power that the enemy possesses and nothing shall in any way harm you” (Luke 10:19). The interruptions on our lack of believing are activities of demons, trying to impede our faith to believe that all things are possible with God. Demons of all sizes and shapes mascaraed themselves so not to be recognizable in order to deceive and deviate us from truth that sets us free.
Believing that all things are possible with God, liberates the soul from fear. Where there would have been fear, anxiety, and worries, there will be peace and joy embedded in the promise that nothing is impossible to God. Our Lord YAHSHUA warned His disciples much against worries, anxieties of life. He said, “Therefore, do not worry and be anxious… but seek first of all His kingdom and His righteousness, and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So, do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble” (Matt. 6:31a,33-34). Believing is the only way to our spiritual success. Our lives should mirror God’s faithfulness at all times to the unbelieving world.
