If you are a born-again Christian, naturally you are waiting for YAHSHUA’S promise to be fulfilled through His appearance for you. The world no longer satisfies you no matter what it offers you to make you happy. Hopefully, you have your passport signed with the Holy Spirit’s approval, guaranteeing your entrance to heaven, from where your salvation will be realized. We get distracted with so many things new in this world, that I am afraid we have lost our love for His coming; we have lost our focus on Him, to the fun things of the world. The world is turning on its axis controlled by YAHSHUA. But it will come a time when the earth will be utterly broken like a drunken man and shall sway to and from like a hammock; its transgression shall lie heavily upon it, and it shall fall and not rise again…. (Isaiah 24:20-21). No one will be able to save this earth, only our Lord will save it by fire to create a new one. So, how are you expecting to save the earth, by your own efforts? One thing you must remember: It is sin that is destroying it; it is men in his uttermost evil attitude that is calling God’s attention for the destruction of His own creation. While men live on earth, earth will suffer the consequences of men’s sin. The Bible says, [For the whole] creation waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be make know; for the creation was subjected to frailty, not because of some intentional fault on its part, by the will of Him who subjected it – yet with the hope that nature itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption and gain an entrance into the glorious freedom of God’s children (Rom. 8:19-21). So, here we have nature suffering decay because of sin; and like us, it waits for its restoration, when the Lord comes to free His children from this world. Whom are you waiting for? Are you aware of the work of sanctification? That’s key to enter heaven? The Holy Spirit is ever working to make us more like YAHSHUA, in order that we be glorified. The three steps must exist in sequence: (1) regeneration- new birth in YAHSHUA; (2) sanctification (3) glorification.
You cannot wait for a better world without repentance of your sins and turning to God. The future of this earth is not what you think outside of God’s plan. If you are waiting for better things to come in the future, look around and understand that the earth is taking a turn in direction to its own destruction. This is the period of God’s grace -His unmerited favor to humankind. However, this dispensation will have its finishing when the judgment of God will fall on the earth. Peter said in his epistle while in Rome, shortly before his death: But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish with a thunderous crash, and the elements [of the universe] will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up; since all these things are thus in the process of being dissolved, what kind of person ought you to be in consecrated and holy behavior and devout and godly qualities (II Peter 3:10-11). Amidst this there is the blessed hope that keeps us strong in the faith, that one day, and not very far, God’s promise of redemption will become reality. This is hope mingled with faith, otherwise there would not be one without the other. Hope without faith is just a dream that never will be fulfilled. We all have been at a wedding ceremony, where the bride takes our breath away for the beauty that she displays. The word bride expresses whiteness, perfection, joy, celebration and more. Even though she is so complete in her beauty, nothing is there to compare with the bride of Christ in that day when his wedding will take place. The letter to the Ephesians says, Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, that He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things (5:25-27).
In the parable of illustration, concerning the ten virgins as YAHSHUA’s bride, in that He emphasized preparedness. Only five of them were ready; to be a Christian without devotion to God, in obedience to His words, it is the same as if not being waiting for Him and not being ready. The title Christian does not constitute salvation; It is only through the carrying of our cross, which is self-denial; only that way we are able to follow YAHSHUA and be waiting for Him. To follow YAHSHUA is not an easy life. Do you remember how He had to suffer to save us from hell? Do you know about the scourges He received on His body? Do you remember how many hours He hung on that cross, suffering humiliation from those passers-by? Do you remember how much blood He lost, to give us life? Do you hear His anguish expressed to His Father when all our sins were laid on Him? Do you think it is fair in any way to Him, for us to walk the way of the world and not His way? His, Who still carries the marks of the nails on His hands and feet? The Apostle Paul said, “I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus” (Galatians 6:17). Through many persecutions, he suffered physically, mentally, yet continued faithful to the end as a martyr. He definitely was ready to be received in heaven and awarded also.
If you are waiting for the bridegroom YAHSHUA, you are a bride of the Lamb. In Revelation 19:7-8 we read: Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us celebrate and ascribe to Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has prepared herself; she has been permitted to dress in fine (radiant) linen, dazzling and white- for the fine linen is the righteousness, just and godly living, deeds and conduct and right standing with God of the saints. After justified, we must be sanctified which is the righteousness of God imputed in us by the Holy Spirit; it is our daily walk with Him, in communion with Him and being transformed by the renewing of our mind; it is being molded into the image of our Lord and Savior, YAHSHUA. This is a sure way that we are waiting for the coming King, for a new heaven and for a new earth. Is that YAHSHUA you are waiting for?
Thank you. Some good thoughts shared here.
