You Rule the Raging of the Sea

O God, you are forever the same from ages past. There is not even a small dot in changing with You. Today, You are just as attentive to our prayers as You were back then in the time of King Hezekiah. Our hearts turn to You in anguish for the rage of the sea of our time has raised its head against us, Your people. Raging in all kinds of dimension has sounded the alarm and we have no one to go to, but to You. Our children, and grandchildren are taken away for evil purposes to the end of their lives. Our food, the air above us are tainted with harmful substances to hurt us. We cry to You O God, our Redeemer and King to save us. You are greater than any raging sea, as all have been created by You. Listen to the cry of the hearts of Your people, O Lord! In years past, You were right inside a physical raging storm, frightening and fierce, causing fear in Your disciples, and just at Your rebuke there was a great and wonderful calm – a perfect peaceableness (Matt. 8:26).

How wonderful, it is when nature displays respect to its Creator, for us to see!  Our struggles today are of a different proportion, because of twists of evil behind them. The time of the end of normal days seems to have left and gone from our nation and the world. Chaos is all there is; we have no government that is ruled by the most important piece of paper, called the Constitution. That beautiful sign in the skies decorated with multi- colors, is nothing today then a manifestation of men’s pride, when it is a sign from God Himself telling the world that He will not destroy the earth with water again. Confusion has surrendered the hearts of young people by the teachings in schools. These are the days of Noah and Lot. We stand perplexed with fear of the future, if we are to be here much longer, facing the raging of the sea, coming ever so close to us. It is time to call on the name of the Lord for our salvation!  Not only to call, but also to cry with repented heart for us and for our nation.

When Daniel was facing the raging of the sea in his time, at the judgment of God against his nation for seventy years, this was the way he prayed. He said, I set my face to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplication, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes (humility). I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, Who keeps covenant, mercy, and loving-kindness with those who love Him and keep His commandments, We have sinned and dealt perversely and done wickedly and have rebelled, turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. Neither have we listened to and heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in You name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the Land…O Lord, to us belong confusion and shame of face- to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers – because we have sinned against You…O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, give heed and act! Do not delay for Your own sake… (Dan. 9:3-6,8,19a).

Prayer is the tool that opens heaven and moves the heart of our God to calm our struggles in the midst of the raging sea of adversities. No storm is too big that He cannot remove; it is the matter of our hearts that interferes with His purpose, and with the answers to our prayers. We must approach the courts of heaven dressed in humility, as Daniel did, although he was not the one who had sinned against God. We are all in this storm together. If we, born-again Christians, do not pray for this nation, and for the world, the storm will continue its course to destroy all. The Bible says, The prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (James 5:16b). YAHSHUA’S disciples failed to consider the [miracle of] the loaves, because their hearts were grown callous, so, when YAHSHUA came to save them from the raging of the sea, walking in the midst of it, they feared, and considered Him to be a ghost. They failed to consider Who was that who they were watching walking on water, if not God Himself in His Son- YAHSHUA?  Know for sure that the past miracles we experienced in our life time, will serve to guide us in our today’s struggles. For our God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. There will be never a shadow of change with Him. He is in the storm life brings us. As He told the disciples, He tells us today, Take heart, I AM! Stop being alarmed and afraid (Mark 6:49-52).
