There were the wood
The knife and the fire
But where was the lamb
For the sacrifice?
A wonder in Isaac’s mind
God will provide
Through you, my son
The Lamb, was the reply
Arriving at the place
Abraham secured his son
On the alter
For his sacrifice
Believing in the resurrection
Of his son to fulfill
God’s promise in His plan
You will be a great nation!
As he raised his hands
To take the life of his son
As God had commanded
Obedience was credited to him
Then a voice from heaven
Changed the direction
And a ram was provided
Ready to take Issac’s place
There, many years later
In the space of God’s time
God offered His only Son
To atone for the sins of mankind
My God, my God
Why have you forsaken me?
So He cried
And laid down His life!
It is finished He cried!
Redemption is sealed
With my blood
My perfect sacrifice!
